A scooter tyre sample should produce a written decision tied to one product and one intended application. Before ordering a batch, agree which checks the supplier can document, which require a repair workshop and which remain unresolved. Use a separate record for every variant.
Give the sample an identity
Record the supplier's item code, sample reference, scooter model and revision, wheel position and the markings on the existing tyre. Attach labelled photographs of the tyre, rim and valve arrangement. Ask the supplier to identify the intended construction and compatible rim; leave unconfirmed details open rather than assuming that a matching nominal size is sufficient.
Distinguish a tyre alone, a tyre with a tube and a complete wheel. List the tube, valve and other included parts separately. Keep the quotation and sample record on the same reference so a cheaper offer cannot silently change the contents.
Divide receiving and workshop checks
At receipt, compare the item, markings, quantity and packaging with the order. Record visible damage or deformation with photographs. Agree dimensional checks and tolerances with the supplier and workshop in advance; do not invent a universal pass limit for different tyres.
A repair technician should assess fitting on the intended model using the manufacturer's instructions and suitable equipment. Ask for a record of the actual components used, any mismatch and whether the intended installation could be completed. Do not modify a wheel or tyre to make a doubtful sample pass. Installation approval and any further performance assessment need a competent provider.
Write a decision that can be repeated
Use one of three outcomes: accepted for the recorded checks, rejected, or pending confirmation. For each check, keep the requirement, observation, evidence and reviewer together. A blank result means pending, not passed.
For example, if the correct tyre arrives with a different valve arrangement from the order, hold that variant for clarification. A supplier's general claim that it fits the scooter family does not close the recorded discrepancy. This is an illustrative decision rule, not a customer case.
Carry the result into the batch order
- Quote the accepted sample reference and supplier item code.
- List the approved contents, markings and packaging for each variant.
- Require written agreement before changing construction or included parts.
- Agree batch sampling, check scope and handling of discrepancies before shipment.
- Retain the sample record and record complaints against the delivered batch.

These reports help define questions; they do not identify the cause of a failure or establish a supplier-wide defect rate.
