Two dehumidifier offers are difficult to compare if one lists litres per day and the other only lists a room area. Before ordering for resale, ask what task the customer wants to complete and which conditions the supplier used to support its claims. Describe the use before selecting capacity
Separate occasional laundry drying, everyday indoor moisture and use in a cool basement. Record approximate room dimensions, temperature, humidity, intended running hours and noise constraints. If these are unknown, mark them as questions rather than choosing a capacity by guesswork.
A persistent leak or building defect needs its own assessment. A portable appliance should not be sold as a confirmed remedy for an unidentified moisture source.
Put supplier claims on the same basis

Ask for noise information with mode, measurement distance and method. “Quiet” is not a complete acceptance criterion. A customer's sleeping area may require a different choice or operating schedule from a utility room.
Check tank access, emptying instructions, any full-tank behaviour described by the manufacturer, and the fittings supplied for a drain connection. Have the responsible tester verify agreed functions according to the manual. Confirm whether continuous drainage is suitable for the customer's location rather than assuming a hose can go anywhere.
Define a useful sample report
Record model and revision, start and end conditions, mode, elapsed time, collected water and how it was measured. Include observations about controls, handling, supplied parts and packing. State who performed the check and which questions remain unresolved.
Do not compare supplier laboratory figures directly with a short uncontrolled room trial. Decide in advance which differences require clarification, another sample or a different product. Include costs after purchase
Ask about replacement parts, service arrangements, packed size, weight and protection in transit. Agree the handling of arrival damage or a wrong model. These costs can change the value of a seemingly inexpensive unit.
Local product reviews include both useful moisture collection and disappointment about noise or laundry drying. They show differing expectations, not controlled performance comparisons or a defect rate.
